300 HR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

(230 Contact Hours + 35 Non Contact Hours)

OUR METHOD

Our Sacred Vinyasa Method integrates fundamentals of breath and movement from Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa Flow with essential principles of alignment from Iyengar and Anusara®. Our main objective is to provide technical and methodological tools so each practitioner / student develops their own experience, unique expression of the practice as well as teaching style.

Our learning objectives:

  1. Understanding the biomechanics of the human body during the practice of Asana to create healthy alignment of the posture.

  2. Studying and experiencing the theories of the energetic body regulated by the power of the breath through which the true transformation of the physical, mental and emotional body begins.

  3. Acknowledging that each person has bio-individuality for which each must be uniquely expressed with no recipes but from a solid foundation.

  4. Develop technical and methodological tools so each practitioner can use their own experience to create a unique and safe way of teaching.

  5. Preparing the student to learn how to remove the layers that cover and repress the Sacred Self so the potential power of expansion can be accepted from a place of truthfulness and compassion.

We want our students to acknowledge and understand the entire being and all of its integrated parts as a sacred experience, which opens the door for learning to appreciate the Self, feeling grateful and responsible for it.

Our mission is to make accesible techniques, practices and a solid philosophical system that the Path of Yoga offers, from which practitioners learn to observe themselves, by the practice of being truthful and free. This is where the Sacred quality of existence resides.

We integrate traditional practices of Asana, Kriyas, Pranayama, Meditation and Mantras, with Conscious Living contemporary theories to keep us engaged as students first.  “Sadhana” is the Path of the Practitioner, who never stops learning , because in order to be able to teach, one must learn how to be a student first.

LUANA FARA
CREATOR OF THE PROGRAM

& LEAD INSTRUCTOR

My life has been a versatile journey that has turned into the path of Yoga. I dedicate most of my life to this practice: learning, teaching, sharing and experiencing this philosophy from different perspectives.

I studied Contemporary Dance Arts and worked for several years as a dance teacher, choreographer and performer. At the same time I began studying holistic body practices in 2001 which is when I was first introduced to yoga.

In 2006 my life drastically changed as I began working in the corporate world and decided to stop dancing. A short time after that, I picked back up my yoga practice and moved heavily into both Yoga and Pilates.

In 2010 I finished my Pilates Teacher Training Certification additionally in the same year I completed a 250 Hours Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training in Kasasana Yoga School, both in Costa Rica.

In 2011, driven by my passion for both disciplines, with a dream of sharing this path and aware of the potential of business growing in Costa Rica market, I decided to open my own studio: EnPrana Yoga & Pilates Center.

While running the studio, between 2011 and 2013, I completed the Anusara ® Yoga Immersions I, II and III as well as the Anusara ® Yoga teacher Trainings I, II and III, studying with recognized teachers as Jaye Martin, BJ Galvan and Layla Kuri. In addition to those certifications, I also completed other Yoga workshops and the Pilates Teacher Trainings I & III with Elena Bartley from Pilates Center of Las Vegas.

Starting 2012 I became quite interested in Ashtanga. I started practicing with Mariela Cruz and through the years I have practiced and taken workshops with renowned teachers such as Matias Flury, Patrick Nolan, Gabriele Severini and Tim Feldman.

In December 2012 I traveled to India for the first time and have been traveling back continuously (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018)  to keep studying with Usha Devi, my Iyengar Yoga Teacher, and with Siddhartha Krishna, my yoga philosophy teacher.

I have also lived, practiced and studied for short periods in Ashrams like Parmarth Niketan and Sadhaka Grama Swami Rama Ashram. I am passionate about Mantra Chanting and playing the harmonium (on a very amateur yet devotional way) which I started to learn on one of my recent visits to India.

I have studied many additional courses such as Acroyoga, Breema, Partner Yoga and Thai Massage, with teachers like Justin Carusso and Atma Crista. Also, in 2014, in one of my travels to India,  I have completed a certification in Ayurvedic Massage. In 2016 I completed a certification as a Health Coach in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition®.

In 2015 I started traveling the world, exploring, teaching and learning the discipline of Yoga. At the beginning of 2017 I have completed a 200 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in India.

In 2017, I moved to New Jersey and together with the love of my life (now my husband), we bought a Yoga Studio: Balance Yoga Studio. We have ran the business together, teaching classes and workshops, and giving Health Coaching Sessions.

Currently, Brian & I keep running the studio in NJ from CostaRica (sounds crazy, I know!), while we run a 275 Hr YTT and a Pre-Teacher Training Course in Costa Rica with Sacred Self School of Yoga, which is a school we have recently founded in order to be able to share information, experiences and knowledge through specialized courses for Yoga teachers or committed practitioners, such us CEUs and YTTs.

I believe in the bio-individuality of the human, reason why I don't agree that one system or method fits all. I am always looking for nurturing myself and keeping my practice of Ashtanga, supported by the alignments of Iyengar, organic dance, pranayamas and chanting, and sharing my experience and knowledge from a place of non-attachment but self-truth. I believe that our highest freedom resides in the possibility of been conscious and kind.

INVITED INSTRUCTOR

IvanG_edited.jpg

IVAN GONZALEZ

Ivan has been practicing yoga since 2008 when he suffered from a debilitating L4-L5 herniated disc. Through his daily practice of Ashtanga yoga, Ivan is pain-free and continues to share his passion for functional movement. Ivan recently completed his 500 Hour Ashtanga & Pranayama Based Yoga Teacher Training during a 6 week intensive at Samahita Retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand. Ivan also completed a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering, 2 years in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ), and is also a Reiki Master Teacher. Through Ivan’s educational journey, he has developed a multifaceted and holistic approach to discovering the intricacies of the human spirit and its organic ability to self-heal through the path and guidance of yoga. Understanding both the energetics and physical planes of existence allows Ivan to assess and treat the human mind, body, and spirit through a kaleidoscope, rather than from a singular lens or modality.
